Project: Development of new composite optical fibers
for multifunctional applications in optics and photonics
Responsibility: To prepare a multilayer
optical glass preform consisting in concentric layers of glasses of different compositions
in order to draw specialty optical fibers. By judiciously combining the
preselected glassy compositions, one expects to create new properties in the
optical fiber, such as the creation of modulation or gradient of refractive
index.

Projects:
- Design, FEM Analysis & Fabrication of Prosthetic Knee Joint
Knee joint is the most complex joint in human body, which gets the discriminating loads in different moving conditions, due to which the replacement surgery is becoming more popular for knee joint. Current work aims at designing CAD models of prosthetic knee joint, finite element analysis of the models and fabrication of it.
- Development of 45S5 Bio glass – Mullite Composite
45S5 bio glass is considered as class “A” bioactive material. In the present work an attempt has been made to enhance the mechanical property by adding mullite in the bio glass matrix.
- Automated watering system for garden/lawn
A device that can be used for automatic watering by the method of sprinkling. Using a hygrometer, which will be continuously taking data regarding the water level of the soil, when the level goes below the required value sprinkling will be started which is controlled using a solenoid valve.
- Ceramic pot filter
In the work an attempt has been made to increase filtration rate in traditional Ceramic water filter and also varying the pore size inside with no compromisation of quality.
Scholastic Achievements:
- Currently 4th position in the department batch of 2012-2016.
- Received Mitacs Globalink-2015 scholarship to pursue internship at University of Laval, Quebec, Canada.
- Received INSPIRE scholarship from DST for 1 year for being within the top 1% students appeared intermediate exam in 2011 in Odisha.
- Short-listed within top 5% students all over India for interview of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI 2012).
- Secured State Rank 25 in Mathematics Olympiad in 2006 organized by Orissa Mathematical Society.
- Secured 3rd position in all India Vedic Mathematics Quiz in 2005.
- Secured State Rank 7 in “BHARATI KRISHNA GANITA PRATIBHA” in 2002.
